About us
Cakes by Design delivers delicious, freshly baked cakes directly to your door.
We specialize in Birthdays, Baby Showers, office parties, special events, theme cakes and many other special occasions.
Our beginnings: I visited our local store one day hoping to pick up a custom made cake for my son and daughters birthday party. However, when I asked about specialty cakes, surprisingly their answer was, "No, we do not make them."
I then asked if they could possibly make character cakes like Cinderella or Lightning McQueen. Again the answer was no. Frustrated, I asked, "What kind of cakes can you make?" Their response was even more disheartening, "We do not make cakes. Our cakes are sent to us from Germany already pre-made and frozen. We only decorate the cake as our customer's request."
I walked away a little disappointed. After all, my kids' hearts were sat on a Cinderella or Lightning McQueen cake. I did not know what I would do. So, after I arrived home, I decided to try my hand at this. Admittedly, my first attempt wasn't a "blue ribbon" winner, but it was far better than a frozen pre-made cake.
That was the simple beginnings of Rena’s Cakes By Design.
My husband and I have been married for 7 years and have 4 beautiful children. I look forward to meeting you and designing your custom made cake.
